Crooked Fox Hot Spiced Bourbon Balls

Hot Spiced Bourbon Balls

makes 25-30 balls

I have made these over the years, but tried this spiced version recently and it is much more

interesting. It will be my “go-to” from now on!


2 cups graham cracker crumbs (individual crackers processed into crumbs to equal 2 cups)

1 cup chopped pecans (measure the chopped nuts then process into fine pieces)

1 1/4 cup powdered sugar

2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder

Pinch of cayenne

1/4 teaspoon ground mace

1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1/8 teaspoon salt

1/4 cup bourbon

1/8 cup light Karo syrup

For dusting:

1/2 cup powdered sugar

1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

Combine all dry ingredients(except the last two for dusting) and mix well. Combine bourbon and

syrup and add to dry mixture. Mix until well combined. Mixture will be sticky.

Roll into 1 inch balls with hands. Drop into the dusting mixture, roll around to coat.

Store in a sealed container, with wax paper between layers, in fridge for up to a week.

VEGAN option:

A note - most graham crackers are vegan (only questionable ingredient is honey) - you could

also use any vegan basic sugar cookies, animal crackers, place of the graham crackers.
