5 Spice Oven Roasted Nuts

Five Spice Oven Roasted Nuts

makes 4 cups

These nuts are the perfect compliment to a glass of chammy or a cocktail. Because of the warm

spices these are specially nice in the cooler months. They work great as a hostess gift, too!

4 cups raw or roasted(unsalted) nuts - any kind will work, I like pecans, almonds and cashews

1/4 cup sugar

3 tablespoons five spice powder

1 tablespoon chili powder

1 tablespoon coarse sea salt

1/3 cup orange juice

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Spray a baking sheet with cooking spray.

Place the nuts in a large bowl.

In a small bowl, whisk together the remaining ingredients. Add to nuts in large bowl and toss to

coat with a spatula. Spread nuts on baking sheet in an even layer.

Bake the nuts for 10 minutes, then stir well to make sure they are evenly cooking and not

sticking and rotate the pan. Bake an additional 10 minutes. Stir again, reduce heat to 300

degrees and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes until the nuts are dry and crunchy.

Remove from the oven and let cool. They will become crunchier as they cool. Store in an airtight

container for up to 2 weeks.
