Chocolate Covered Strawberries

This barely takes a recipe. Choose the type of chocolate you like and the toppings, that’s pretty much it. Here is a guideline….

12 large strawberries, washed and dried well

12 ounces semi-sweet chocolate chips, or candy melts*

12 ounces white chocolate chips, or candy melts*

chopped pecans candy sprinkles

 

Place each kind of chocolate chips in an individual small glass bowl and melt in microwave according to package directions. If the chocolate is too thick you can stir in about a teaspoon of vegetable shortening. Dip individual strawberries in melted chocolate. Sprinkle nuts or candy sprinkles to decorate as desired or drizzle with the other type of chocolate. Let dry on wire rack.

 

Store in a sealed container in refrigerator for up to to 2 days.
