Holli's Flank Steak
Holli’s Favorite Flank Steak
serves 3-4

This is a staple in my family, sometimes I just crave it! My Dad makes it with a few different
additions, but I like to keep it pretty simple. The brown sugar kind of seeps into the edges and
caramelizes it. It is very easy to prepare and cook and great for a crowd!

1-2 lb flank steak (they usually are about 1.5 pounds)
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/3 cup soy sauce
1/8 cup water
1 tablespoon yellow mustard

In a small bowl combine sugar, soy sauce, water and mustard.
Place your steak in a rectangular glass dish. Poke it all over with a fork. Pour marinade over it
and turn over and baste it a bit. Cover with plastic wrap and marinate overnight (best marinated
overnight but can easily do for a few hours).

Preheat your grill to medium high heat.

Remove the steak at least 30 minutes before ready to grill. Coat your grill with cooking spray.
Place steak on grill (letting excess marinade drip back into the dish before placing on grill).
Grill apprx 4-5 minutes per side…watch this, it will cook very fast!

Remove to cutting board, tent with foil and let rest 10 minutes. Slice against the grain into one
inch thick slices.
