Miss Lulu's Homemade Dog Treats

Miss Lulu’s Favorite Treats

makes 18-20 2” treats

Miss Lulu wanted to make some treats to give to her doggy friends for Valentines Day. So we

created this recipe and cut these out in little hearts and packaged in cellophane bags!

3/4 cup whole wheat flour

1/4 cup all purpose flour

1/4 cup quick oats

1/4 cup medium grind cornmeal

1/2 - 3/4 cup water

1/4 cup canola oil

1 egg

2 tablespoons unsalted peanut butter

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line two baking sheets with parchment.

In a small bowl combine whole wheat flour, all purpose flour, oats and cornmeal, set aside.

In a medium bowl combine 1/2 cup water, canola oil, egg and peanut butter. Using an electric

mixer, mix on medium speed until well combined. Lower the mixer speed and add dry

ingredients into wet ingredients and mix well. Add a little more water if necessary, dough will just

come together..it will not be wet.

Lightly flour your surface and turn dough out. Roll out to about 1/8 inch thick. Using cookie

cutters, cut dough into desired shapes. Transfer cut out treats to prepared baking sheet.

Re-roll scraps as necessary and cut into more treats.

Bake for 10 minutes. Turn treats over and bake another 10 minutes. Turn the oven off and leave

the treats in the oven for 40 minutes to crisp and harden. Remove to rack and let cool.

Treats will stay fresh in a sealed container at room temperature for about a week.
